Given the rapidly evolving nature of the Coronavirus outbreak, we would like to take this opportunity to update you on what we are doing.
We are aware of and fully understand the concerns and anxiety the current situation is causing for both families and pupils and we are monitoring the situation closely. We are following all the advice provided by Public Health Scotland, the Scottish Government and the SQA and any decisions we take will be based on the latest advice from them.
There is a dedicated Coronavirus page on Clackmannanshire Council's website https://www.clacks.gov.uk/social/coronavirusinformation/

which will be updated with the latest education information. The updates will also go out through the council's Facebook and Twitter pages.
As per government advice, our schools currently remain open. The current SQA exam arrangements currently remain in place and schools will be gathering evidence for assessments as is normal practice.
Scottish Government guidance has also advised against all overseas education trips for children under 18. This is because trip leaders would face significant challenges in making arrangements to ensure children’s welfare, should adult supervisors or children be required to self isolate. The guidance also gives advice for students and staff in the education sector planning to travel in the UK or overseas, and for those who are already overseas.
As part of our Digital Learning Strategy, we are at an advanced stage with our programme to create distance learning solutions and virtual classrooms which can be used in instances of absence.
We continue to encourage hand washing and good hygiene practices and we are doing this throughout our schools. Any parental support on this from home would be appreciated
Thank you for your continued support.
