S5 students Megan and Gemma represented Lornshill Academy last night in the 2nd round of the Donald Dewar Memorial Debate, a national debating competition. This round was held in Stirling High School and they were debating the abolition of the minumum wage. They did a fantastic job and were up against students from Balfron High School, Denny High School and Stirling High School. Whilst our journey in the Donald Dewar Debating Competition came to an end, we couldn’t be prouder of Gemma and Megan. Their speeches were eloquent and their responses to points of rebuttal sharp and hard-hitting. This is only the start of our school’s debating journey and they are the pioneers.
