Yesterday saw nine fantastic groups of our new S3 students present on behalf of eight of our local charities. These presentations were the culmination of weeks of hard work through the YPI programme delivered in Social Subjects. Competition on the day was fierce with some creative and persuasive pitches made on behalf of the different organisations. Some great entertainment was also by provided by Morgan, Lauren, Josh, Fergus, Scott and David.
With £3000 up for grabs for the winning charity, the judging panel of Mr Murray and our two school captains, Gemma and Daniel, had a very tough decision to make.
In the end though a decision was reached and the judges agreed that Forth Valley Sensory Centre were the most deserving. A huge congratulations goes out to Lucy, Holly, Shona and Emily for an amazing presentation and kudos for learning how to sign throughout it!
The event was also an opportunity for our new S2s in the audience to receive recognition for their efforts in securing their John Muir Awards. This is testament to the hard work that our new S2s put into learning about John Muir and the importance of our local environments.
As the end of this year approaches, this was a great opportunity to celebrate the learning of so many of our young people.
